CARA MENGHINARI PREDATORY JOURNALS

Bapak/Ibu penulis pemula yang sedang mencari jurnal Scopus dan Web of Science, pertimbangkan baik-baik jurnal yang:

1. Mengundang submission melalui spam email.
2. Terbit setiap bulan dengan jumlah artikel tidak wajar, misalnya 100 artikel atau lebih.
3. Memberikan acceptance letter tanpa review dan dilakukan dalam waktu singkat (misalnya beberapa hari).
4. Masuk sebagai predator dalam Beall's list atau diterbitkan oleh publisher yang tergolong sebagai predator.
5. Berkerja sama dengan lembaga IFERP, ARDA Publication, dan semacamnya karena jurnal-jurnal yang berkeja sama dengan lembaga ini banyak yang akhirnya menjadi Scopus-discontinued.

Terutama apabila artikel mau digunakan untuk mengurus kenaikan JJA ke LK atau GB sebagai artikel jurnal internasional bereputasi. Artikel pada jurnal demikian hampir bisa dipastikan akan ditolak oleh reviewer. Reputasi penulis sebagai ilmuwan juga tercoreng.

Agar aman, carilah jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh penerbit dalam negeri (Sinta 1), penerbit terpercaya (Elsevier, Thomson Reuter, Springer, Francis Taylor, dll) dan perguruan tinggi atau penerbit lain yang tidak melakukan praktek-praktek di atas. Saya rekomendasikan Sinta 1 karena jurnal-jurnal di dalamnya dipantau oleh Dikti, selain oleh Scopus dan Web of Science.
